From a very young age I have been very passionate about my art. Self taught, I always dreamed of becoming a tattoo artist. I practiced often and put my art ahead of work and school. Now, working at Renegade Tattoo, my art is ever-evolving and reaching greater heights. Portraits, photo realism, pin-ups and black and gray fuel my passion and drive me to become El Paso's premier and perhaps one of this city's most admired artists.

Enthusiasm For Tattooing

I am a tattoo artist with a love for life and art. Having this perception allows me to satisfy both desires in the arena of tattoos. The connection to life presents itself with the various personal reasons that individuals are drawn to the tattoo of their choice. The art itself stems from the use of lines, form/shape, shades/values, and color of ink injected into the skin. All of these elements of life and art are my passion for the tattoo.

All my life I have been drawn to create. Whatever the medium, I have been able to immerse myself in my work, bringing to life the things that exist solely within the mind. For as long as I can remember, I have been cultivating the ability to not only draw what I can see, but to create what I cannot see. I became interested in tattooing because of this. I feel limitless in my ability to provide people with their dream tattoo, an original tattoo unique to them.

I started tattooing in mid November, 2011. As such, I'm still new to the tattoo world, but I am eager to progress into it, transforming what I know now into its tattoo form.

History

Renegade Tattoo was started by Orlando Rodriguez in August of 1992, making Aug. 16, 2012 its 20th anniversary. Renegade is known for treating its clients like friends and family and is seen as a second home.

We are proud of not only putting out amazing tattoos, but encouraging our artists to constantly learn, bettering themselves and their art. We have a library of around 400 reference and tattoo books at our disposal that we use to learn and perfect our artwork.

Not only do we educate ourselves, but we share what we know with one another and even with our clients.

Orlando's love for teaching and sharing has given him the opportunity to train and help to hone the skills of over 40 tattoo artists in a 20 year span.

The Renegade crew, past and present, has traveled to major cities all over the world, making friends, building strong tattoo relationships, learning from other artists, and having a great time.
